Mechanical Field Service Engineer

Windmoeller & Hoelscher (www.whcorp.com) is looking for Mechanical Field Service Engineers for all mechanical and process aspects of the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of W&H equipment at customer plants primarily in the United States and Canada. Field Engineers can live anywhere in the U.S., but must be near a major airport for easy access to flights. 

Tasks:

  • Install new machinery, including: assembly, alignment, start-up, testing, acceptance runs and production support
  • Lead rigging crews during installation and ensure timely completion
  • Provide timely, detailed reports on service performed and machine performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults of existing equipment
  • Provide expert troubleshooting/maintenance advice and training to operators and maintenance staff
  • Perform extensive preventive maintenance, audits and service on W&H’s line of machinery (printing presses or extrusion lines or converting equipment) 

Required:

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent OR 3+ years experience in a comparable service/maintenance position
  • Ability to understand blueprints, layout and assembly drawings and pneumatic diagrams
  • Ability to install, align and disassemble equipment using provided schematics and technical documentation
  • Ability to fabricate parts and check components for size accuracy, tolerances and alignment
  • Familiarity with installing and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and schematics
  • Computer proficiency with basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office etc.)
  • Solid logic and problem solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks depending on urgency
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America with possible occasional trips overseas
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers in  both spoken and written English
  • Good customer service skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and German is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Valid Driver’s license 

Compensation:

Compensation dependent upon experience and qualifications. Generous benefits package includes health, dental, 401k match, profit sharing, health and long-term disability insurance, 3 weeks paid vacation to start.

Electrical Field Service Engineer

Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation (www.whcorp.com) is looking for Electrical Field Service Engineers for all electrical/electronic aspects of the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of W&H equipment at customer plants primarily in the United States and Canada. Field Service Engineers can live anywhere in the U.S., but must be near a major airport for easy access to flights.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Installation of new machinery, including: cabling, start-up, commissioning and fault diagnosis.
  • Lead rigging crews during installation and ensure timely completion of project.
  • Provide timely, detailed reports on service performed and machine performance.
  • Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of existing equipment.
  • Providing expert troubleshooting/ maintenance advice and training to operators and maintenance staff for quick and efficient start-up of new equipment
  • Performing extensive preventive maintenance, audits and service on W&H’s line of machinery (printing presses or extrusion lines or converting equipment)

Required:

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent OR 3+ years experience in comparable service/electrical maintenance position
  • Ability to understand blueprints, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical controls, wiring, PLC’s, motors and drives
  • Computer proficiency with solid understanding of computer-based industrial control systems as well as basic network knowledge
  • Solid logic and problem solving skills  and ability to prioritize tasks depending on urgency
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America with possible occasional trips overseas
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers in  both spoken and written English
  • Proven customer service and sales skills and ability to diffuse difficult situations and gain customer satisfaction
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and German is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Valid Driver’s license
