Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation of Lincoln, RI is distinguished by a heritage of industrial innovation.  Founded in 1869, its parent company, Windmöller & Hölscher of Lengerich, Germany first established an international presence by automating the production of paper bags. Since then, the company has greatly expanded its product line through a number of acquisitions, worldwide subsidiaries and engineering advancements.

As a result, the Rhode Island-based unit, incorporated in 1977, has become a major supplier of advanced flexographic and gravure printing presses, blown and cast film extrusion systems, multiwall bag making machines, as well as form, fill, and seal (FFS) equipment for the flexible packaging industry in North America. W&H’s engineering excellence guarantees customized engineering solutions: from a single machine order to a turnkey factory.

Since its inception, W&H has been granted over 1,500 patents worldwide, including the oscillating haul-off technology, internal bubble cooling, and the OPTIFIL P automatic die control. The company is well known for many industry "firsts,” including the introduction of the first CI press in 1954 (OLYMPIA 1275), and for the 1997 launch of NOVOFLEX the industry’s first gearless, direct drive, infinitely variable flexo press.

In addition to supplying the world’s most comprehensive machinery program for the flexible packaging industry, W&H also offers an extensive and reliable service program. 

W&H service is available “24/7”, utilizing a comprehensive multi-million dollar warehouse to deliver the majority of parts right from our Rhode Island stock. Furthermore, W&H’s 43,000 sq. ft. (4,000 m²) Technology Center in Lengerich, Germany, offers the most advanced training and testing labs for printing, extrusion and packaging machinery.
