With the launch of the HELIOSTAR G range
of rotogravure
presses, W&H has brought to the market another successful
gravure press that is based on W&H's over 50 years of experience
in the
design and construction of gravure presses for package printing
applications. Featuring the latest state-of-the-art engineering technology,
gravure presses of the HELIOSTAR G
range meet
any demands in terms of printing quality
and press productivity. Owing to its modular construction, the machine can
be perfectly customised to specific customer requirements and market needs
and be expanded or upgraded any time as and when required.
The modular design concept of HELIOSTAR G allows for tailoured press
configuration to suit the specific application:
- Choice with the number of printing stations according
to requirements
- Preconditioning system for the most different materials,
including paper, aluminium foil and plastic films as well
as carton
- Single-hood and double-hood drying systems as well as
a jumbo dryer
- Web turning features for reverse-side printing
- In-line, e.g., for lacquer coating and cold-seal applications
The direct drive HELIOSTAR G can be equipped for the use of conventional
cylinders (type GE and GL), hollow cylinders (type GH), and sleeves (type
GS). A choice is given between two quick-change systems using either slide-in
cart or cassette technology. With the hollow cylinder press version, the
cylinders are clamped in place through chucks. Because of its unique concept,
sleeve changes on the HELIOSTAR GS are accomplished without needing
to remove the base cylinder from the machine.
A most useful optional feature available for the HELIOSTAR G
is the
RSP (Register-Scan-Preset) automatic pre-register system which ensures
a precise start-up register with minimum waste.
The modern drive concept of the HELIOSTAR G provides a number of advantages, including:
- High register accuracy, even during acceleration and
deceleration of the press and when handling thin film
- Good access also from the machine's drive side
- Short web paths, ensuring minimum waste on job changeover
Impression roller sleeves can be changed maintaining the web tension.
Doctor blade position and angle can be precisely adjusted for optimal print
results. The massive construction of the doctor blade assembly ensures perfectly
clean and consistent print results free of marks and streaks, even at the
highest printing speeds.
The high engineering standards of the HELIOSTAR G are also reflected
in the modern appearance of these presses. No overly ornate design, but
purposeful construction and appearance are the essence of this high-performance
gravure press.
