The ASK winder (ASK = German acronym for axial / gap / surface) combines all of the capabilities it takes to meet the most
demanding winding requirements. In addition to blown and cast
film applications, the ASK has been successfully used and proved its versatility downstream of embossing calenders (compressible film), coating machines (highly tacky film), laminating systems
(non-wovens, multi-layer), multi-ply tubers (side gusseted film
tube at 300 m/min) as well as for a variety of other film products. Since the winding shaft stays in its position from roll start to
finish, the winder is also frequently chosen as the platform for customized winder solutions when new applications are involved.

The extensive equipment of the FILMATIC ASK is the basis for
the most versatile uses offered by this winder. In addition to the patented vacuum cutover drum which features a right-angled cut
and eliminates foldback at roll start, advantages include clockwise and counter-clockwise winding capability and centre driven gap winding during roll changes. Handling of the finished rolls is facilitated by a robotic loading/unloading system. Optionally
available is an automatic core make-ready system as well as
a cambering feature for trouble-free winding of highly tacky wide
web film materials.
