W&H Introduces EASY CHANGE automatic job setting system for
Blown Film Extrusion lines
EASY CHANGE saves on resin, energy costs and increases uptime
by automatically adjusting
job parameters during size changes.
LINCOLN, RI, June 2007 – W&H announces its latest technological
achievement in blown film extrusion, the EASY CHANGE automatic job
setting system. Available for use with W&H’s VAREX blown
film extrusion equipment, EASY CHANGE automatically configures new
job change parameters at a much faster rate and more efficiently
than with a traditional manual changeover.
EASY CHANGE is capable of automatically adjusting to new target
values the following job parameters
in blown film production:
- Film width
- Film thickness/ layer distribution
- Output
- Cage height
A recent demonstration at W&H’s Extrusion Technology Center
showed a product changeover completed in under 3 minutes using EASY
CHANGE’s automatic adjustment features that manually would have
required 15 minutes to execute.
Besides increased uptime, EASY CHANGE also accounts for significant
resin savings and reduced energy consumption given a company’s
specific product structure. EASY CHANGE is available as an option
on all new VAREX blown film lines, and also as a retrofit for
VAREX lines equipped with the PROCONTROL TS operation system.
