Farnell Packaging to Install 8-color PRIMAFLEX CM flexographic
press from W&H
New press will give Farnell Packaging the capability to take on new
business in high-end
process printing.
LINCOLN, RI, May 2007 – Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation
announces the sale of a 52” (1,320 mm) 8-color PRIMAFLEX CM
printing press to Farnell Packaging Ltd. of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The
press will be installed at the company’s Dartmouth facility
in June of this year. This will be Farnell’s second
W&H flexographic press, after the installation of an 8-color
NOVOFLEX in 2003.
Farnell Packaging made the decision to invest in the new press to
expand current capacity levels and
to take on new business that it
previously could not support. According to Farnell’s V.P.
of Operations, Danny Christianson, the business is high-end process
printing. “The PRIMAFLEX will give us the capacity
to efficiently manage this new business."

Farnell Packaging Ltd. has been in business for over forty years as
a custom manufacturer and distributor of packaging to the food industry
with focus in the frozen food, bakery, fish and fruit & vegetable
markets. Farnell offers its customers mono and coextruded film
extrusion, biodegradable film extrusion, wide and narrow web flexographic
printing, as well as slitting and converting. The company
manufactures blown film, roll stock, bags, sheets and pressure-sensitive

The PRIMAFLEX CM purchased by Farnell Packaging, Ltd. features
8 color decks, a maximum material width of 52” (1,320 mm) and
a maximum printing width of 50” (1,270 mm). Production
speeds measure up to 1000 fpm (300 m/min) and print repeats range from
14.5” – 31.5” (370 – 800 mm). The press
also features W&H’s EASY-SET fully automatic impression setting
system.
