P&O Packaging Adds W&H’s 3-layer VAREX Blown
Film Extrusion Line
LINCOLN, RI, March 2007 – P&O Packaging, LLC., a Viapack company
located in Dalton, Georgia, has installed a 3-layer W&H VAREX coextrusion
line. P&O is a manufacturer of custom monolayer and co-extruded
polyethylene films used in laminating, converting and other specialty
packaging applications.
The W&H line can produce more than 1000 lbs per hour of film in
widths to 110 inches. It is a dual purpose line constructed to allow
P&O to make strong inroads into the high end lamination, coating
and converting film markets as well as to enter a new targeted specialty
market with the latest extrusion technology.
P&O President, Ben Brashears, said, “The new W&H coex
line is producing high quality in a perfectly flat film with gauge
tolerances way above industry standards. The investment in this
new technology was made possible by our association with Viapack. It
gives us the increased capacity we needed, the technology to enter
new markets and the quality we are proud to offer customers."
Robert Isen, Viapack’s CEO, said, “We are delighted to
bring P&O to this new level and to lead P&O into exciting growth
market areas. P&O is now able to better serve its lamination
coating and converting film customers with the highest quality and
the most reliable supply.
