Cello-Pack to choose W&H equipment
LINCOLN, RI, February 2006 – Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation
announces the sale of a
10-color NOVOFLEX CL
printing press to first-time customer, Cello-Pack Corporation of Buffalo,
NY.
The press will be shipped to the customer’s Buffalo plant in
July for installation in August of this year.
Cello-Pack made the decision to invest in new equipment because it was
sold-out on current capacity. However, not only was it essential to increase
capacity, the company also recognized the need to
upgrade its equipment. “We
felt the [NOVOFLEX CL’s] 59” widths with the long 49” repeats
would help grow existing markets, as well as enable a greater presence
in others, such as case-ready meat and printed shrink film,” claims
Rich Hummell, Cello-Pack’s Executive VP/General Manager.
According to Hummell, the decision to go with W&H had to do with, “our
need to offer our customers
the best quality of printing possible [and]
from a technical standpoint, W&H offers world class
technology.”
Included in this technology are several key features available on the
NOVOFLEX CL that greatly impressed Cello-Pack and influenced the company’s
decision in purchasing the machine. “The
Easy-Set was a must have
application,” states Cello-Pack’s VP of Sales and Marketing,
Sam Brown, referring to W&H’s award-winning fully automatic
impression setting system, “the “must have” came
from
our operators after a demonstration at W&H in Germany.”
W&H’s TURBOCLEAN fully automatic ink supply and wash-up system,
and the NOVOFLEX ’s unique sleeve change over system for both anilox
rolls and plate cylinders were also features Brown mentioned as having
made an excellent impression on Cello-Pack.
Cello-Pack Corporation is a rapidly growing, full-service provider of
quality flexible solutions with capabilities in printing, converting,
lamination and graphics. In operation since 1948, a large percentage
of Cello-Pack’s market today is in the food industry (ie. frozen
foods; processed meat; bakery; dairy; cheese; and produce). The company
also maintains a presence in the consumer goods, pet products and textiles
markets.
The NOVOFLEX CL is part of the NOVOFLEX C series, W&H’s latest
generation of sleeved, direct drive,
CI printing presses. The introduction
of the NOVOFLEX CL and CM expands W&H’s machine program
to
include two presses designed for both wider printing widths and increased
repeat lengths – allowing customers to choose between W&H’s
wide web cylinder technology or wide web sleeve technology. Cello-Pack’s
10-color NOVOFLEX CL is 59” wide and has a max. repeat length of
49”.
