Sigma Plastics Group to Install 5-Layer VAREX Blown Film Line

LINCOLN, RI – The Sigma Plastics Group will install a 5-layer VAREX blown film line from
Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation at the Nashville, TN facility of FlexSol Packaging.
The high-output, 5-layer VAREX line is being added to accommodate growth at the plant.
The line has a working width of 87" and is equipped with a stacked MULTICOOL D air ring
and FILMATIC TX dual turret winder. This is FlexSol's fourth VAREX from W&H at the Nashville
plant. The line will produce 5-layer co-extruded film primarily for food packaging with production scheduled to begin in Q4 2011.
FlexSol Packaging, which is headquartered in Pompano Beach, FL, is a wholly-owned division
of the Lyndhurst, NJ-based Sigma Plastics Group.
Sigma Plastics has more than 20 co-extrusion blown film lines from W&H. In the past year
alone, five VAREX lines have been installed at two Sigma companies. ISO Poly Films in Gray Court,
SC added a 7-layer line with a 87" working width, as well as two 3¬layer lines with working widths
of 110" and 126" and one 63" 5-layer line. Clinton, MS-based McNeely Plastics boosted its production
with a 71" 3-layer line. The companies became members of the Sigma Plastics Group in February
2009 and January 2010 respectively.
